Labiaplasty
in West Palm Beach and Jupiter, FL

Every woman is unique – from her head to her toes, no two women are exactly alike. This uniqueness makes us individuals; however, sometimes there are differences about our bodies that serve to make us uncomfortable or self-conscious. Labiaplasty surgery was once a quite taboo subject, but it has now become a normal part of a cosmetic conversation. At Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach, we serve patients in Jupiter, Wellington, Palm Springs, and Lake Worth. Our incredible board certified plastic surgeons work to give you the best results, the most comfortable recovery, and an experience that exceeds your expectations.

What is a Labiaplasty?

A labiaplasty, or labia reduction, is a surgical procedure that is performed to reduce the size of the labia minora. The procedure is performed on women for a variety of reasons, not all of which are strictly aesthetic in nature. Sometimes portions of the clitoris may cause frequent irritation due to extra skin along the side of the clitoris that is loose and droopy. This may be reduced in labiaplasty surgery, also called a clitoral hood reduction or prepuce reduction.

Labiaplasty in West Palm Beach and Jupiter, FL

We know that deciding on a labiaplasty is an important and personal decision, and we want to make sure you are choosing an experienced plastic surgeon. When you come in for your initial consultation, we will go over the many options available for you.

How Much Does Labiaplasty Surgery Cost?

The cost of labiaplasty surgery will vary based on your individual treatment plan and desired results. Pricing can be discussed during your labiaplasty consultation. We offer financing through CareCredit® and Alphaeon® Credit to make any cosmetic procedure more affordable. We understand that this is a big investment, and we want to help invest in you.

How Long is Recovery from Labiaplasty?

The recovery time for a labiaplasty is not very long as compared to most plastic surgery procedures. You can be up and about in about a day or two after your procedure. You will need to use ice packs for a couple days to minimize swelling and help reduce bruising. Generally, there are not a lot of restrictions after this surgery as far as work or daily activity; however, you will want to avoid anything that can overly irritate the area, including tight-fitting clothing. Your surgeons will make sure that you are comfortable with your post-operative care instructions before you leave. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us.

Am I a Good Candidate for Labiaplasty Surgery?

You are a good candidate for a labiaplasty if you feel that your labia is too large or is causing you physical discomfort. Labiaplasty can improve the size and shape of your labia, creating a tighter and more snug appearance. A consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons can help to determine if this procedure is right for you.

Additional FAQs About Labiaplasty

As with any form of plastic surgery, labiaplasty surgery is associated with some potential risks. These include, but are not limited to: adverse reaction to anesthesia, changes in sensation, scarring, allergic reactions, and infection.
Aftercare for your labiaplasty procedure is as important as the surgery itself. Make sure to perform meticulous incision care. You may resume showering one day after surgery, and you should gently wash with non-fragrant soap and warm water. It is important to wear loose, clean undergarments as to not apply friction or irritation to the area. You can keep to basic daily activities, but you will want to refrain from strenuous activity or heavy lifting until cleared by your surgeon. Apply cold compresses, which keep swelling down and also help to keep discomfort to a minimum.
Because labiaplasty surgery is an invasive procedure, it will result in some scarring. Labial scarring, however, tends to be minimal as the incisions are small.
Many patients are able to return to work within two to three days after this procedure.
After your labiaplasty recovery is complete, you can feel free to return to physical activity. Moving around and activity will help stimulate healing; however, be sure to follow your specific post-op instructions provided to you for optimal results.
Patients should stop smoking at least six weeks before surgery and avoid taking aspirin, certain anti-inflammatory drugs, and certain supplements. Preparation for your labiaplasty procedure will be discussed during your consultation. You may need assistance directly after this procedure, so prepare to have help for a couple of days.
