Hair Transplantation in West Palm Beach and Jupiter, FL
Is your hair beginning to fall out? Tired of living with baldness and/or thinning hair? Many men and women will experience some form of hair loss in their lifetimes that can be treated through a variety of methods. The board-certified plastic surgeons of Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach offer the FUE method of hair transplantation for patients living in West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Palm Springs, Wellington, Lake Worth and surrounding areas in South Florida.
What is the FUE Method of Hair Transplantation?
The FUE method is a type of hair transplantation surgery that works by extracting individual hair follicles from a donor area of the body. FUE stands for follicular unit extraction and can sometimes be called follicular unit transplantation. The FUE method is much less invasive than the traditional strip method for hair transplantation.
An FUE transplant can usually be completed in one session. During the session, individual hair follicles will be removed under local anesthesia. Using microsurgical needles, the grafts will be inserted into the scalp in a natural and realistic pattern to blend into the existing hair. Typical patient outcomes have minimal pain, if any, no scars and minimal downtime. The majority of patients usually recover in approximately one week.
Am I a Good Candidate for Hair Transplantation via the FUE Method?
If you are experiencing hair loss and are considering a transplant, we always recommend a consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons who can provide you with a treatment plan to accurately fit your needs and budget. Ideal FUE transplantation candidates will need to have the appropriate amount of donor-hair for transplant, be in good health and have the right classification of hair loss.
What Results Can I Expect from Hair Transplantation?
The results from a hair transplantation procedure are permanent and will last the rest of your life. In the weeks after the procedure, the newly transplanted hair will shed and grow back stronger, healthier and thicker.
How Much Does Hair Transplantation Cost?
Prices for an FUE transplantation procedure will vary depending on the number of follicles that need to be transplanted and areas of hair loss. After your consultation with our board-certified plastic surgeon, you will meet with a patient coordinator who will provide you with a proposal for your hair transplantation procedure.
