Created by Harvard scientists, CoolSculpting® is a non-invasive procedure that employs cooling technology that noticeably reduces stubborn fat without surgery. What Results Can I Expect from CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting® treatments can reduce 20-25 percent of fat in treated areas, and patients may begin to see changes in their body as quickly as three weeks after treatment. Full results are commonly seen after two months. However, the body will continue to flush out fat cells for four to six months after treatment. In order to maintain your results, it is advised to continue a healthy and active lifestyle.

How Long is Recovery After CoolSculpting®?

Treatments are completely non-surgical, so you can typically return to normal activities directly after. Some patients experience redness, minor bruising, tingling, temporary numbness or discomfort in the treated area, but this should resolve quickly on its own. Because CoolSculpting® is a no-downtime fat reduction treatment, patients can return to their everyday activities right after treatment.
During the CoolSculpting® treatment, a gel pad and applicator will be applied to the treatment area(s). Then, cooling will be delivered to targeted stubborn fat, freezing and killing fat cells. The body will then continue flushing fat cells over the course of the next couple of months.
Discovered by two Harvard University scientists years ago, cryolipolysis is the fat-freezing technology that is used in the CoolSculpting® treatment to freeze stubborn fat. It is based off of the idea that cold can target fat cells without damaging surrounding tissues and eliminate these cells permanently. Over time, the body naturally processes the fat and eliminates it from the body.
One treatment of this non-invasive fat removal procedure usually takes about 30-60 minutes to complete. However, if more than one treatment area is being targeted, treatment time will be extended.
