Facelift
in West Palm Beach and Jupiter, FL

As we grow older, our facial skin loses elasticity. Wrinkles form and skin begins to sag and droop. Although we will never be able to turn back the hands of time, cosmetic procedures such as rhytidectomies can reduce or even eliminate the effects that time has on our skin. Our team of experienced board certified plastic surgeons serve patients in Palm Beach, Wellington, Jupiter, Lake Worth, and all other surrounding areas.

How Can a Facelift Help Me?

More commonly known as “facelifts,” rhytidectomies can correct a number of problems, including facial sagging, deep creases between the nose and mouth, “jowls,” and loose skin and fat under the chin and jaw. A facelift will rejuvenate your face and give you a fresh, youthful appearance that can make you look even 10-15 years younger.

At Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach, different rhytidectomy techniques are used depending on your facial structure and the level or type of correction you desire. During your consultation, you and your doctor will discuss options for a traditional facelift, a limited-incision facelift, or a neck lift. All three options are outpatient procedures that are normally performed under general anesthesia.

How Much Does a Facelift Cost?

To determine the cost of your facelift or mini facelift, we invite you to schedule a private consultation at our practice. During your consultation, we will assess your cosmetic goals in order to pursue a treatment plan that matches your unique needs. Then, we will be able to provide you with a clear breakdown of the costs associated with your treatment. At Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach, we offer a wide array of monthly payment options to help you reach your individual wellness, beauty, and performance goals. We accept major credit cards, and our financing plans include CareCredit® and Alphaeon® Credit.

How Can I Renew My Face with a Facelift?

A traditional facelift is also a “full” facelift. It is used to rejuvenate the face, the “jowls,” and the neck. The procedure is used to sculpt, lift, and re-position muscles and deep tissues. An incision is made from the temple area and reaches under the earlobe to the lower scalp at the hairline. In some cases, an incision may also be made underneath the chin.

Neck lifts concentrate on the jowls and loose skin and fat on the neck. The incision is made around the earlobe and behind the ear to the lower scalp, allowing access to the skin and fat in these areas so muscles can be tightened and excess fat can be removed.

At Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach, facelifts are performed at our 8,000 square foot office and surgery center. Our team of highly qualified and caring staff will work with you every step of the way – from consultation to recovery – to ensure your comfort, safety, and satisfaction. For patients requesting overnight care, outpatient facilities at one of the local hospitals may be arranged. During your consultation, make sure to discuss the facelift recovery process and facelift cost.

What is a Mini Facelift?

A mini facelift, also known as a quick lift or a weekend lift, is a surgical procedure that focuses on the lower area of the face. This procedure is aimed to lift and tighten the cheeks, chin and jowls, removing excess skin and wrinkles from the lower part of the face under the nose. A mini facelift yields a quicker surgery and a shorter recovery time.

Patient reviews

As with any form of plastic surgery, facelift surgery is associated with some potential risks. These include, but are not limited to: adverse reaction to anesthesia, changes in sensation, scarring, allergic reactions, and infection.
Following your facelift procedure, you may experience slight swelling or bruising. This is normal and will subside in about three days. Rest is important, but this procedure will not confine you to your bed. You will be able to return to daily, non-strenuous activities in a few days following your procedure. Pain medication can be used to control discomfort. It is important to follow all patient care instructions provided by your surgeon to ensure a quick and safe recovery and see the results that you desire.
Yes, this procedure will result in some scarring. However, the location of the scars will, most likely, be hidden and not visible to most people. Your surgeon will place incisions as carefully as possible to minimize this.
You may be able to return to work two weeks after this surgery, but it is important to review this with your surgeon. Everyone heals differently, and recovery will depend on your post-surgery regimen.
You should be able to exercise a couple weeks after this procedure; however, it is important to wait until you are cleared to do so. Be sure to follow your specific post-op instructions provided by your facelift surgeon for optimal results.
Before your facelift, it is important to plan ahead. Most importantly, you should stop smoking at least six weeks before surgery and avoid taking aspirin, certain anti-inflammatory drugs, and certain supplements. You will need assistance directly after your procedure, especially to relieve you of any strenuous chores or responsibilities. Drink a lot of water before and after your surgery; water helps your body to heal. Additional preparation for your facelift procedure will be discussed during your consultation.
If you are looking for treatments specific to the neck or under the chin only, but a facelift or neck lift is not right for you, we offer Kybella®. Kybella® is a skin rejuvenation product that destroys fat cells under your chin, ridding you of that “double chin.” Kybella® will reduce the fullness under the chin and leave you with a sculpted, well formed facial profile. It is important to understand that Kybella® doesn’t tighten your skin, as it is used to melt fat. If you have an abundance of excess skin under your chin, then this may not be right for you. Schedule a consultation to discuss your concerns, and our surgeons will help guide you to the procedure that is best for you.

At Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach, we pride ourselves in being able to deliver you with a new look and increased self-esteem. Contact us today to schedule your consultation. We will discuss your facelift treatment plan, cost, and recovery process.
