What is ProFractional Laser Therapy?

ProFractional therapy uses breakthrough fractionated laser technology to dramatically improve the appearance of skin without the need for surgery. If you suffer from scarring, sun-damaged skin, or fine lines and wrinkles, you may wish to consider ProFractional therapy to improve the texture, tone and pigmentation of your skin.

How Much Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Cost?

We share pricing information during our initial consultation. No two patients require the same treatment plan and your pricing may vary based on the treatment area and other factors. To help ensure our patients can afford their cosmetic care we offer several financing options.

What Can I Expect During ProFractional Therapy?

ProFractional therapy can treat a number of skin-related problems, including wrinkled, rough, or sagging skin; scars that are the result of acne, chicken pox, surgery, or injury; and age spots, freckles, sun spots, or any other uneven pigmentation. It is a non-surgical procedure that is performed on an outpatient basis. Treatments can be completed in a matter of just 15-30 minutes. No anesthesia is required, but prior to treatment, an anesthetic cream may be applied an hour prior in order to help reduce any potential discomfort. During the procedure, an erbium YAG laser will be directed over the areas of skin you wish to target. This particular laser works by going deep within your skin to create tiny channels well below the surface that stimulate the production of new collagen. Collagen formation works to plump and smooth the skin, reducing scars, wrinkles, and other imperfections. In order to get the best results, your doctor may suggest multiple treatment sessions. On average, most patients receive four treatments over a period of 3-6 months.

What Are the Benefits of ProFractional Treatment?

One of the greatest benefits of ProFractional treatment is that there minimal downtime following each session. Though you will probably experience redness in the areas that were treated, you will be able to apply makeup within one or two days following treatment. Depending on the extent of each session, you will be able to return to work in a matter of just a few days. Your doctor will recommend that you avoid sun exposure before and after treatment and to use high SPF broadband sunscreen as an added protective measure.

ProFractional therapy can be performed alone to produce dramatic results, or in conjunction with other treatments such as BroadBand Light Therapy to further enhance those results.

What is Gentle Wave Therapy?

If you are unhappy with the texture and pigmentation of your skin as a result of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, or other discoloration, contact Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach for information on revolutionary gentle wave therapy and how it can improve the appearance of your skin.

Unlike laser procedures of the past, gentle wave therapy works by targeting and treating small fractions of skin at a time. This targeted process makes for a much faster healing time unlike older procedures that required large areas of treatment. Gentle wave therapy works with your body’s own natural processes to create healthy new tissue in place of damaged skin. As new collagen and elastin are formed, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles are reduced. In conjunction with the formation of new collagen, gentle wave therapy also works to suppress certain collagen-degrading enzymes that speed up the aging process in the skin.

What Can I Expect During Gentle Wave Therapy?

A typical gentle wave therapy treatment session can be performed in just under ten minutes. Gentle wave therapy is an effective treatment that is safe and effective for all skin types. The amount of sessions needed to achieve optimal results varies from patient to patient, but most patients do require four to six treatments that can be scheduled weekly. You will begin to notice results, and you will continue to notice improvements in your skin for several months, even after treatment is complete. Once your treatment plan is complete, your skin will be softer and smoother.

What is Erbium Laser Resurfacing?

If you are looking for an effective way to change and brighten your overall complexion, consider the benefits of erbium laser technology. Erbium laser resurfacing is the latest advancement in skin resurfacing procedures to reduce the signs of aging, scarring, and other skin damage. Erbium laser treatment can be used to treat moderately deep facial lines and wrinkles, irregular pigmentation, sun damage, sun spots, and acne scarring.

What Can I Expect During Erbium Laser Resurfacing?

Erbium laser resurfacing is an outpatient surgical procedure that is performed under general anesthesia and can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the intensity of treatment. During this procedure, light from the erbium laser is absorbed by water within the skin cells, resulting in the vaporization of damaged cells. After the damaged skin is removed, new, healthier skin can grow in its place. Unlike CO2 lasers, erbium technology uses cool light lasers, allowing your doctor to vaporize damaged skin cells with less burning of the surrounding tissues. Erbium lasers are a gentler alternative to CO2 lasers which makes for a faster, more comfortable recovery while still yielding beautiful results.

Many patients choose to enhance and complement the results of erbium laser resurfacing by combining this procedure with a facelift, blepharoplasty, or brow lift surgery.

What are Laser Vascular Lesions?

Vascular lesions are caused by large or excess blood vessels that are formed underneath the surface of the skin. Because these lesions are formed directly under the surface, they are highly visible and can cause extreme discoloration. These lesions can vary greatly in shape and size. Vascular lesions are an extremely common condition, but when they appear on parts of the body that are visible to others, they can be the source of frustration and embarrassment.

If you have vascular lesions, treatment is available in the form of pulsed dye laser treatment via the VBeam Perfecta®. This type of treatment can help reduce the size and coloring of lesions virtually anywhere on your body to improve the overall appearance of your skin and restore your self-confidence.

What Can I Expect During Pulsed Dye Laser Treatment?

Pulsed dye laser treatment is a fairly straightforward technique to target lesions and the blood vessels that have caused them. Through concentrated light held directly over the lesion, the light that is projected beneath the skin turns into heat. This heat is able to destroy the blood vessel without harming the skin surrounding it. Pulsated dye treatments for vascular lesions are performed in-house on an outpatient basis at Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach. No anesthesia is required, and no downtime is necessary following the procedure, though you may experience slight to severe bruising afterwards.

Pulsed dye treatments are highly effective at removing a number of different lesions including spider veins, port wine stains, hemangiomas, and telangiectasias.

Prior to undergoing any procedure, you will meet with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons for a cosmetic consultation. During your appointment, your doctor will be able to identify what type of lesion(s) you have and recommend a treatment plan that will be most effective to remove them.
