SkinPen® Microneedling
SkinPen® microneedling is often referred to as “collagen induction therapy.” Collagen is a valuable protein to your skin that gives it structure and shape. In your 30s, your body starts to lose more collagen than what is produced, and this leaves your skin vulnerable to developing wrinkles. Collagen is also used by your body for scar healing, and SkinPen® can reduce your scars to make them less obvious.

SkinPen® is a minimally invasive procedure that requires no downtime and helps your skin heal naturally. It is considered the gold standard of microneedling devices due to the precision with which the needles of the device are manufactured.
How Does SkinPen® Work?
When your skin is injured, fibers of collagen are produced. SkinPen® works through this same process, but on a microscopic level. The needles of the device create tiny injuries in the skin. These “micro-channels” are so small that the opening does not bleed. Your body detects the injuries and stimulates the creation of collagen fibers.
Recovery After SkinPen® Microneedling
Your skin may look slightly pink for up to four days after your SkinPen® treatment. Some patients also experience minor swelling depending on the type of condition that is treated. You may need three to six treatments that are performed every four to six weeks.
Collagen production is a gradual process, so you may see visible results approximately six weeks after each treatment.
Is SkinPen® Right for Me?
SkinPen® can be used on most skin types. It is not recommended for men and women with skin cancer, infections or wounds. SkinPen® may be right for you if you are interested in non-surgical options to reduce wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of aging.
