Skin Treatments

We all like to look our best. Sometimes, this requires more than ordinary cosmetics. Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach can offer a wide variety of noninvasive, non-surgical office treatments to enhance your appearance. Treatments are quick, comfortable and there is little or no downtime.

Juvéderm® XC

As we age, our skin changes. Over time, the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and folds form. But, with Juvéderm® XC, you don't have to just sit back and let it happen! Recently approved by the FDA, Juvéderm® XC is a "next-generation" dermal filler. The smooth consistency gel helps to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your "smile lines" or "parentheses" (nasolabial folds—the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).

Juvéderm® is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Juvéderm® is injected under the skin to provide a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know).

Restylane®

Restylane® is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. It is a clear gel composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. This synthetic acid carries no risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds restylane | Boca Raton | Delray Beach | Boynton Beach (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane® remains in your skin for many months.

Since no pre-testing is required, a Restylane® treatment can be performed almost immediately. It usually takes about 30 minutes depending on the type of correction you want. Most people find the injections relatively painless, but a topical anesthetic can be applied to the area prior to your treatment. You will be able to see the results as soon as your treatment is completed.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic, or botulinum toxin type A, is a protein commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow's feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. BOTOX® injections block nerve impulses, weakening muscles to relax wrinkles and give the face a rejuvenated look. BOTOX® may also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms.

Laser Vascular Lesions

laser hair removable, spider veins | Boca Raton | Delray Beach | Boynton Beach A vascular lesion is formed by abnormally large or numerous blood vessels located directly under the surface of the skin. These vessels may be visible through the skin or result in a red appearance of the skin. Examples of vascular lesions are telangiectasia or spider veins, port wine stain birthmarks, and strawberry hemangiomas. Laser treatment is safe and effective and there is little risk of scarring, bruising, or loss of pigmentation.

Treatment with the laser varies from patient to patient depending on the type of lesion, and the size of the affected area. Some lesions, like small broken vessels, will require only a few pulses, while others, like port wine stains, will require many more. Spider vein treatments will sometimes require more than one visit.

Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser Tattoo Removal | Boca Raton | Delray Beach | Boynton Beach Highly precise lasers can lighten or remove your tattoo by focusing or pulsing light on the ink particles, which then convert the energy to heat and break up into tiny pieces that are absorbed harmlessly by the body. All this can be accomplished without damaging the surrounding tissue. Results can generally be seen within a few weeks, although larger and darker tattoos may require more treatments than smaller, lighter ones. Occasionally treated skin will look whiter (paler) than the skin around it, but this is usually temporary and fades in the months following treatment.

Perlane®

In 2007, the FDA approved the new wrinkle filler Perlane for the treatment of moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles. Like Restylane, Perlane contains hyaluronic acid—but the gel particles are larger, allowing Perlane to reach deeper layers of the skin for enhanced volume and lifting power. Perlane's effects last for about six months.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® | Boca Raton | Delray Beach | Boynton Beach Radiesse®, formerly known as Radiance, does not require a skin test because it is made from the same mineral component found in our bones and teeth. Radiesse® lasts longer than other fillers and is excellent for the correction of facial lines and wrinkles, smile lines, nasolabial folds and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.

Sculptra®

Sculptra® is a safe, synthetic, and biocompatible material that is injected below the surface of the facial skin. It provides a gradual and significant increase in skin thickness, improving the appearance of sunken cheeks, indentations, and hollow eyes. It is injected every 4-6 weeks. Sculptra is approved by the FDA for use in facial fat loss associated with HIV. It is not yet approved for cosmetic purposes but studies are ongoing.

Broadband Light (BBL)®
