More About Dr. Alan Pillersdorf

Owing to his unmatched commitment to excellence in surgery and his continued commitment to his patients and the community, Dr. Pillersdorf has been recognized for his thorough professionalism. He is the President of the Florida Medical Association with its 21,000 physicians and the President of the Palm Beach County Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Pillersdorf is also the President of the Florida chapter of the American College of Surgeons and is also the Governor of the college. In 2003, Dr. Pillersdorf served as the President of the Palm Beach County Medical Society and he currently serves as the Division Chief at the Department of Reconstructive Surgery of the JFK Medical Center.

Dr. Pillersdorf has a passion for helping patients with massive weight loss and he has extensive experience with brachioplasty, breast lift, medial thigh lift and extended abdominoplasty. His surgical interests are in procedures that are minimally invasive, including the ultrasonic liposuction, endoscopic brow lift, short scar facelift and the Smart Incision breast augmentation. He is also a dedicated skin care removal specialist, and uses lasers in his practice.

Schooling and Information

There are eight hospitals in the Palm Beach area that have the privilege of having Dr. Pillersdorf on staff and performing surgeries. Additionally, he holds several memberships with professional societies including the American Medical Association, the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Palm Beach County Medical Society, the Florida Medical Association and the Palm Beach County Society of Plastic Surgeons.

In 2011, he received the honor of helping others follow their surgical dreams, as he was appointed as the Affiliated Associate Professor of Surgery at Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami and the Clinical Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine, University of Vermont.

Dr. Pillersdorf is a graduate from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He finished his residency training Florida in General Surgery and then moved on to complete his residency in Plastic Surgery from the Nassau County Medical Center in New York. Dr. Pillersdorf is a Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and General Surgery.

He is a dedicated father who has been volunteering in several communities and he has an avid interest in Project Access, which is a program for surgical patients who are not able to maintain insurance. Dr. Pillersdorf is an avid basketball and baseball fan, and he also enjoys a good round of golf. In 1991 he was a kidney donor to his only brother Gary, who he admires.
